Men's Hair Loss
Hair loss hits a lot of guys and it seems pretty normal to lose some strands every day but when it starts showing up more it can feel rough. Around half of men notice it by the time they hit fifty though for some it kicks in earlier in their twenties. Genetics seem to drive most of it but other things mix in too.
The growth cycle for hair keeps going through phases and when it gets thrown off things slow down or thin out. That part is easy to miss at first. Main causes usually trace back to family history where follicles just shrink over time and stop working the same. Hormones like DHT bind in and weaken them especially if someone is sensitive to that. Stress from bad sleep or smoking can speed things up and make shedding worse even if it is only temporary.
Some medical stuff like thyroid problems or certain pills for blood pressure can add to it as well. Signs show up as hair pulling back at the temples first then more at the crown later on. Finding a bunch on your pillow or in the drain might mean it is happening faster than usual.
Treatments include things like minoxidil rubbed on the scalp or finasteride to cut down on the hormone levels but results take months of sticking with it. Surgery moves good follicles to thin spots and can look pretty natural after. Diet with enough protein and vitamins supports it but does not fix genetic cases completely. Managing stress through exercise or sleep helps stop extra shedding though I am not totally sure how much that changes things long term if the pattern is already set.
